Ciudad Piar The Los Barrancos II Crushing Plant (PTLB II) has a nominal processing capacity of 6.4 million metric tons per year. It operates a single production line rated at 1,200 t\/h, for a total annual capacity of 6,400 kt.<\/p>\n Ciudad Guayana (Puerto Ordaz) After unloading, the ore is transferred to the crushing circuit, where it is reduced to a maximum size of 44.45 mm. <\/strong>The Mining Management Division operates two crushing plants located at the Los Barrancos deposit. The first facility, known as PTLB I, has a nominal processing capacity of 8 million tons per year. Ore is fed into the plant using haul trucks of up to 180 tons. After processing, the plant produces approximately 70% iron ore fines and 30% iron ore lumps. PTLB I operates two production lines rated at 1,500 t\/h, providing a total annual capacity of 8,000 kt.<\/p>\n
<\/strong>Upon arrival in Puerto Ordaz, trains loaded with run\u2011of\u2011mine ore (ROM) with particle sizes up to 1 mm are separated into groups of 35 wagons. Each wagon is unloaded individually using a rotary car dumper with a capacity of 60 wagons per hour.<\/p>\n
<\/strong>After the crushing stage, the processed run\u2011of\u2011mine ore is screened. Fine ore is transported to the homogenization stockpiles, while lump ore is routed to the drying plant and subsequently to the coarse\u2011product storage yards.<\/p>\n
In this stage, fine ore is deposited in layered stacks to form physically and chemically homogenized stockpiles according to product specifications. From there, the material is either dispatched to customers or transferred to storage yards located at: North Stockpile (Fines), South Stockpile (Lumps), Main Stockpile (Fines and Pellets), and Local Customer Stockpile (Lumps and Pellets).<\/p>\n
<\/strong>Export\u2011grade product is stored in the stockpiles located in Puerto Ordaz and at the Transfer Station. Ship loading is carried out through loading systems composed of reclaiming equipment, conveyor belts, and weighing scales used to record the tonnage dispatched.<\/p>\n
